A West Virginie University study suggests "battered wrestler syndrome" as the root cause of professional wrestler Chris Benoit's rampage which resulted in the accidental murders of his wife and son. WVU's chief neurosurgeon, Dr. Julian Bailes, was struck by a brain sample provided by Benoit's father. Bailes pointed out "abnormalities" in Benoit's brain on ABC's Good Morning America, saying: "These are dead brain cells." Broader studies support the theory that professional wresting may cause "dementia," Bailes said.
