From TARP to ARRA?

George Bush and the Democrats gave us TARP (the Troubled Asset Relief Program), essentially a a Trillion dollar tarp to cover the fat asses of the Wall Street fat cats.

The US Senate (presumably on the direction of President-Elect Obama) has now introduced what should be a truly Democratic economic recovery package as opposed to the Republican billionaire bailout bill. (I think?) It's the American Recovery and Investment Act. I say i think the package will represent Democrat ideals because the devil's in the details, and Senate Bill 1 seems a little short on them.

A BILL

To create jobs, restore economic growth, and strengthen America's middle class through measures that modernize the nation's infrastructure, enhance America's energy independence, expand educational opportunities, preserve and improve affordable health care, provide tax relief, and protect those in greatest need, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the `American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009'.

SEC. 2. JOB CREATION, ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND A STRONG MIDDLE CLASS.

    It is the sense of Congress that Congress should enact, and the President should sign, legislation to create jobs, restore economic growth, and strengthen America's middle class through measures that--
      (1) modernize the nation's infrastructure;
      (2) enhance America's energy independence;
      (3) expand educational opportunities;
      (4) preserve and improve affordable health care;
      (5) provide tax relief; and
      (6) protect those in greatest need.

Ok? Sounds nice. But where are the details?!? I read the entire TARP and knew it was trash.
